iBridgePlus App Reviews

Great app

I havent played bridge in 40 years. This app is bringing me up to date and providing lots of fun as well. One minor problem so far is that the played trick is removed too quickly for me to see the forth card played. It would also help to be able to pull up the last trick before leading again.

Not good for beginners.

I am brand spanking new to the game of Bridge. Therefore I downloaded this app because it had the hint functions and the ability to "cheat" for all the right reasons to learn. However once I stared playing, I noticed the app would tell me WHAT the correct answer was, but it really fails to tell me WHY its the correct play/bid. Therefore, Im left stumped and just find myself wondering aimlessly within a hand or game. For $25+ for the Lifetime membership, Im disappointed in the lack of value to help teach me to play on my own. Also the jargon under the EXPLAIN button also appears to be written for someone who already somewhat understands the game.

IBridgePlus Review

Good tool for practicing both bidding and play. I particularly like the replay and review options. A bit difficult to set bidding options. Mtngt

Great teaching tool

We only play a few times a year. This is a great way to brush up without embarrassing yourself. My favorite bridge instructor really liked the interface.

Very enjoyable

I lay iBridge just about every day and continue to enjoy it. Despite an occasional blip, when a suggested bid makes no sense, its a lot of fun.

Excellent app!

Ive played many bridge apps and this is the best application available. Its easy to play, the assist is a great learning tool, and its great no matter your level of bridge playing. Love it!

Excellent

Easy to use. Helpful

Great Practice

Great!!! Very well organized and beneficial. Ive been taking lessons and this provides excellent practice in between classes.

Enjoy but....

I enjoy this app very much and feel my play has gotten better. However, why does my opponent NEVER return my lead in defense. They inevitably take my trump and allow opponents to make contract. I know its a robot but cant it learn the hard and fast rule to return a lead?

Love it! I have learned so much and continue to learn

It is great! I play it every chance I get.

iBridge Plus

Really fun and easy to use. Pointers are helpful but can be turned off. Great game! Only wish there was a way to play with a partner.

Ripoff

I purchased this app then they "updated" it and now want to charge me. Dont buy it.

Hate the new version

Hate the new version, the colors alone turn me off... The graphics are really bad and annoying. Going back to bridge base

A+

Clean interface, no crashes, excellent AI

Renewing an interest in Bridge

The newest version of this bridge app is beautiful to my eye. The additional functionality to review and compare play in duplicate competition results is highly instructive. I use the app frequently and find it to be user friendly and a good value. Highly recommended.

Ruined it

Go back to old version. Colors and cost make no sense. Will find another bridge game to play

Already outstanding and continues to improve

This app is unbelievably good. It plays reliably at the level you select. There are various modes of play and I prefer the "team game"most of the time and their version of "live" duplicate for the rest. The team game pits you against the computer and then presents the same hands to another pair of pairs (both computer) to see how well you did compared to a separate playing of the hand. They have included various levels of assistance, allow you to "take back" bids and tricks, and provide a detailed after-play review, all in an effort to provide tools to improve your game. The duplicate option allows you to play a set of hands with a computer partner and opponents and compare the results to others playing your hand with the same arrangement. It costs a dollar or two for each group of hands and your get money credited back if you do well. If you come in at or near the top every once in a while you can keep playing for free. Some nice features for some of their duplicate play are that you dont need to be "online" to play and you do not need to publish the results. You need to be connected to register to play a set of hands and again to report the results. In between you can be on the moon (with no Internet) and still complete play. You have hours to finish a group of hands, typically from four to eight. And when you are done you can choose to report your scores as you, anonymously, or not at all. Bad play doesnt hurt anyone and nobody but you needs to know it happened. All in all, this is the best online environment for enjoying bridge and improving while you do it. Regarding the handful of 1-star reviews for the latest version... They are all expressing shock and awe at a color scheme that is slightly different from the previous version. It is different and a bit more strident than before. However, having used it for a few weeks more than those other reviewers I can say that whatever I remember as being different now strikes me as an improvement. That said, the game authors, for better or worse, have already said they will be reverting to the old color scheme. My recommendation to them (not that they listen to my recommendations right away) would be to include configurable themes in version 5.1 so people can select what they want and change it periodically to keep things fresh. So, in conclusion (bet you thought I had already done that), if you like to play bridge then the prices for this app is a small price for the hours of entertainment you will receive.

I Bridge plus

I dont care for it. When in the play mode the east players cards are hiding half the board so you cant see what East played and my lifetime membership is gone , I guess. It is much harder to follow. Go back to the old version and honer your promises.

Many good features

Many good features in this bridge app. Rubber, Chicago, team and duplicate modes let the user play in their favorite style. Team mode in particular was a revelation to me (gives you an idea of how you did vs. how you could have done). The duplicate mode is fun and works well; it really is a good replica of what you can experience at a club. The ability to replay a hand is much appreciated. The authors have created a sort of bridge community imbued with a distinctive personality that is quirky and maybe slightly dorky but good-natured. The new version has not given me any trouble and I find the graphics much improved, so not sure what other reviewers are complaining about (the colors and backgrounds were a little strange before). In a sense the program may be a bit too full featured. The bidding can be customized in excruciating detail, which most players will not need, want or really be able to do. The engine has an affinity for some unusual conventions such as fourth suit forcing which it plays all the time. The price of the lifetime and duplicate purchases may be a shade too steep and the ability to share purchases across devices is not perfect. In conclusion, Im happy with this app and find myself playing here more than Bridge Base which is my 2nd choice.

Favorite ap

Love the ap, but it occasionally comes up with inexplicable bids.
