This is an excellent game, however I don,t enjoy contract bridge compared to Standard American.

New version has long delays and is much less functional. Please revert back to the original version!
Its a good app and a great refresher on bridge, but even though I bought an extra 100 hands it keeps saying its in trial mode with 16 hands. Then it asks to reload any purchases if youve bought a package of more hands, and then gets stuck in a constant updating loop. Im seriously thinking of deleting it because of this and wish I hadnt bought the extra hands.
Let me amplify: if you want to become a decent bridge player, avoid this app. You will end up in bad habits. You will end up avoiding good no trump contracts because this app makes you believe that weird defensive distributions are inevitable. You will become conservative in your bidding because you cant rely on your partner to bid according to the system you have selected, but you can depend on the defenders to play as if the hand was double dummy. And if you foolishly purchase their "assist" and even more foolishly follow the advice it gives, you will learn to bid incorrectly. Finally, you will learn to dread the game of bridge, rather than enjoying it.
Original review (2 stars): Look, I play the game. I get it, sometimes the distribution is screwy. But the number of 7, 8, or even 9 card suits you see in these hands (both yours and opponents) just have no basis in statistical reality. The "percentage" play is almost always the losing play; meanwhile, the opponents play the hand as if it were double dummy, eschewing the percentage play for the one that ends up working. I do not find this to be a useful tool to practice real, randomly dealt bridge hands (whether rubber or duplicate).
Wow what did they use to configure partner. There is no sense to his bids. Then when I try to adjust, he goes real stupid. The worse part is that a pop up appears and tells me that my bid is not wise. What the heck. I have 8 spades and he will try to out bid me with 3 clubs as his suit. Today I had bid 5 NT, He tops my bid with 6 clubs and he only has 3. Terrible game
The free version gives you the same hands over and over. It doesnt offer Goren or even Culbertson, but bids and plays well anyhow. If it actually has Artificial Intelligence, let it deal RANDOM hands like every other iCard game! Fix these problems and it would be 5+ stars.
Like other reviewers I experienced horrible partner play over a span of several hundred games. Also have detected several occasions where the AI opponents made plays that could only have been made with specific knowledge of the human players hidden hand. No Goren system availability is also a problem.
